Side Blind Zone Alert
Side Blind Zone Alert extends driver vision, using ultrasonic waves to detect objects adjacent to the car in the traditional “blind spot” zone, Ultrasonic sensors behind the rear fascia on both sides of the vehicle signal a visual alert if objects are detected in “blind zones.”
The system can be turned on and off by the driver and, when activated, will warn the driver, with an illuminated red light embedded in the instrument panel, when a vehicle is detected in their blind zones on the same side as the light. When the turn signal is used, the red light on the side of the detection flashes. Additionally, the Enhanced Driver Interface also provides a visual reference.
Alternating beams in HSV’s Side Blind Zone Alert System “sweep” adjacent areas, covering a zone of approximately one lane over from both sides of the vehicle, or 3.5 m. The zone starts at the rear facia and goes back / across approximately 3 metres.
HSV’s Side Blind Zone Alert System is one of the most advanced driver convenience technologies available, and is standard on Grange and optional on all other models in the HSV range.
